In between writing the wrong year on documents, I’ve been reflecting on this blog. Specifically, I’ve wondered whether the frequency and content of the blog work for me. When I look at my workspace, it’s clear that I’ve had no shortage of started posts; however, it’s also clear that much of what I start doesn’t make it onto this page. The primary issue is that I worry about audience perception – too much, too little, too technical, too too vague.
And so, I’ve come up with a solution – to blog for myself sometimes, not just for you. While I still enjoy putting together longer-form essays or multi-part technical pieces, I’d like this blog to get a little bit closer to the first word of the tagline – thoughts – whether or not they’re well thought.
Of course. Blog, originally, meant Web Log, or on-line diary. In my (once and former) profession, economics, Brad DeLong is a good example of true blogging.
